I recently purchased a Bush 42' HD ready LED FS TV with HDMI ports so I could connect my Medion laptop, with HDMI output, to watch HD movies etc and stream Net content to my TV. I set everything up in accordance with both manufacturers recommendations and using the correct HDMI cable. When powering up a signal is automatically detected and I see a display on both TV and laptop screen, but once Windows starts to load the TV screen says 'no signal'. I have tried all the options in Windows 7 screen resolution menu including projector selection modes but it just will not detect the FS TV screen. However if I go into safe mode the TV display works fine automatically, except of course its a lower resolution and I have no audio as its disabled for some reason in safe mode. I have read various recommendations on other threads but nothing suited to my issue. It seems to me that basic drivers installed in safe mode do the job fine, but something is happening with Windows 7 when booting up in normal mode and I lose my HDMI output.

Why will Windows 7 not detect my HDTV in normal mode? I could stick with safe mode, except I then dont have the audio!

Feb 9, 2018 - Hello, I purchasded a HP Pavillion 15-n031sa last week and I am having problems connecting it to my Bush 42' wide screen LED TV (model no.

TV works fine with all other port inputs like video, Scart, DVD, DTV, ATV. Laptop is only 3 months old, fully 7 updated and secure, no viruses etc. Running Intel Celeron 1.6Ghz, Dolby advanced audio, Intel graphics card, 2 GB RAM, 320 Gb HD. Kaspersky antivirus software.

Is this a software issue with Windows 7, background program conflict, or am I just unlucky to have 2 devices that are not hardware compatible with each other? Hi again pbcopter. I installed the latest HD graphics driver as recommended by Intel after remotely interrogating my laptop and the install was successful but sadly I still have the same problem.

I connect everything as required, power up my laptop and I see an output on my TV, but when windows 7 loads/opens the signal is lost. In screen resolution no second screen is detected, and even switching to a VGA output does not change anything, neither does selecting any of the projector options, or changing to the lowest resolution of 800*600. Safe mode with networking works fine with the TV, but with audio function discontinued. Any other ideas very welcome. Update - I did some checking on my video graphics card and it has 64 Mb dedicated memory, total 779 MB, enough to run the medica centre and HD stuff so no probz there. The picture quality in safe mode is fab, just a shame I cannot seem to get Windows 7 to detect the TV in normal mode. In safe mode the monitor set is the default monitor.

I did try accessing the screen resolution in safe mode and was able to alter that, but still no detection of a second monitor etc. I suspect this is a bug in W7 which I have only come across by using the latest FST HD TV technology and laptop combination ( though not for 3D ). Update as of 10/12. I hooked up an LCD display to my VGA output and hey presto Windows 7 functions they way it is intended.

The 2nd display was automatically detected and screen resolution adjusted to match its optimal configuration. All the W7 options were available to me including F8 toggle between screens, options to display one or two or both, and select as a projector screen.

Its now looking like I might have a hardware incompatibility between my Bush LED FSTV and the laptop, or maybe I just need to use a VGA connection instead, but then I need to sort out the audio too. Guess its back to my computer shop for bits, but I am still puzzled why the HDMI connection will only work in safe mode. Happy now that W7 is working ok ( as far as VGA is concerned) and the issue lies elswhere, but still open to ideas/suggestions as to what the solution is for the HDMI comms. I have emailed Medion tech help with the details and await their response.
