I recently picked up an Imbel L1A1 and unfortunately live in Connecticut. For anyone in the gun world who doesn't know the crazy BS going on here, unless pending litigation succeeds, we will have to apply for 'special' registration of any-and-all assault weapons and hi-cap mags no later than January 1st 2014 or become felons automatically. My dilemma: The previous assault weapons ban here required 'special registration' of assault weapons grandfathered prior to the law's implementation in 92-93. The FAL I bought was from an estate sale of a guy who tragically died young of cancer. He bought the rifle legally here in CT within the past 2 years.

Move, operate, or modify arms and munitions unless explicitly trained to do so. The user simply needs to input an FAL serial number and will be given a year.

I believe this was a result of the previous ban's exemption of weapons manufactured prior to a certain date. Eset product activator 65 0. (somewhere in the mid to late 80's- I have to research the exact year) I just don't trust the people or the system that has been established to administer/enforce the new guidelines to be educated enough in the intricacy of 922r regs and accurate indentification processes.

Bottom line: I need to arm myself with as much info as possible to defend myself from confiscation. My rifle is an Century inch with three different numbers on the receiver: Just below the rear sight: AD6202617 Above the magwell where the carry handle rests in folded position: 127258 Two places on the bolt itself: 620617 (same as receiver less the 'AD', however these marking are etched rather than stamped) I'm interested in any info that these number provide, but I am primarily concerned with nailing down the date of manufacture. Additional markings: L1A1 sporter Cal 308 Receiver made by IMBEL - Brazil Imported by CAI St Albans VT Thanks in advance for any help provided! Can one date the date of fal build by serial number, dsa fal rifle serial number, fal cai serial number dates, fal rifle manufacture dates serial number, fn fal date of manufacture, fn fal imbel year, fn fal manufacture dates, fn fal serial number lookup, how old is my century fal, how to date century fal, how to tell fn fal manufacture, how to tell the date of fal rifle, identifiying year of my belgin fal, imbel l1a1 sporter build date, l1a1 build dates, l1a1 forum.

Serial number, l1a1 upper receiver serial number, last production date of fn fal, what year did imbel make receivers in modesto cal, who made my fal.

To me, they keep popping up all over the place with people acquiring them from pawn shops, gun stores, etc. I'm a newbie in this respect, so help me out here. Does anyone have any idea how many of these things are out there?

Every week or so, a proud new owner comes onboard here to tell us all about their new baby, so I'm wondering if the same few hundred rifles are just being continuously bought and sold, or if there are warehouses full of these things. I know very little about the history of the ban era FAL other than I understand Century and a few others took various parts and screwed them together on various uppers. I also understand how the quality is a crapshoot with these. I'd love to be able to tell people something intelligent about these when I'm asked at my local range about them. Wow, that's a good question, Ex. Seems like they long ago became the red headed stepchild of the firearms industry and for good reason.

The fact is that there are a lot of firearms out there with CAI on the side that work well. As far as numbers or years of manufacture? I have no idea on any of the models. There are a lot of models that CAI didn't build that are nice and probably would not have made it in the country without CAI getting the ball rolling and I can't even begin to list them. Seeing their import stamp on a firearm is about as common as seeing ugly people at walmart. More than the gun grabbers can get their arms around--- It seems, as they are STILL pumping em out, that there are MANY centuries out there, of many stripes.
