NOVELL 2.x - 3.x NETWORK BACKUP To backup Novell 2.x - 3.x servers, use either: - Colorado Backup for DOS (reboot from DOS) or - Colorado Backup for Windows (reboot to DOS, then Windows 3.x) *DO NOT USE* Colorado Backup for Windows 95 to back up a Novell 2.x or 3.x server. To back up Win95 workstations, use Microsoft's Windows 95 built-in Cheyenne ARCserve Client software (if the appropriate server application is installed on the server).

See QICFAX document #2421 for more information. See +++ note below. NOVELL 4.x NETWORK BACKUP Your Colorado PowerDAT or PowerTape (SCSI) tape drive must be installed on the server. IDE tape drives are not supported on the server. To back up Novell 4.x servers, use NLM software.

To back up Win95 workstations, use Microsoft's Windows 95 built-in Cheyenne ARCserve Client software (if the appropriate server application is installed on the server). IMPORTANT: CBW95 will back up *ONLY* the Win95 registry of the PC to which the tape drive is attached; the Win95 registry of a remote PC will not be backed up. REMEMBER: Certain Windows 95 system files will always appear 'in use.' See +++ note below. To back up NT servers, use Microsoft's built-in Windows NT drivers or appropriate 3rd party software. See QICFAX document #5225 for more information. To backup Win95 workstations, use Microsoft's Windows 95 built-in Arcada Backup Exec Client for NT software (if the appropriate server application is installed on the server). If your computer’s floppy controller runs at 500 Kbit/sec or you want to run your drive at 2 Mbit/sec, you must purchase an FC-20 Tape Drive Controller Board. Call Customer Support for more information. (See the T3000 Installation Guide for telephone numbers.) INSTALLING EXTERNAL HP COLORADO TAPE DRIVES If you attach your external tape drive with Colorado Backup already open, the drive may not be detected.

Simply close the Colorado Backup program and start it again to detect the drive. HP Colorado T1000e in Windows 95. If you are still having problems after trying the above: 1. Turn your computer off. Turn your computer on.

Install the T1000e's data cable. Install the T1000e's power cable. Insert a tape into the drive.

Follow the Installation Guide's directions for Installing the Software. If you are having problems: A. Click the Uninstall icon.

Right-click on the My Computer icon. Click the Device Manager tab. Verify that the HPTAPE and TAPEDRIVE sections are deleted. Go to step one above. POWER-MANAGEMENT (GREEN) COMPUTERS If your computer has a power-management feature that shuts off your computer after xx minutes since the last keyboard input.
