The Habit of Winning (2nd Edition) Paperback – 1 May 2013 by Prakash Iyer (Author).

Do you feel like throwing in the towel, but want to be a great leader? Would you like to build an organization? Do you want your child to be the best she can be?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, The Habit of Winning is the book for you. It is a book that will change the way you think, work and live, with stories about self-belief and perseverance, leadership and teamwork stories that will ignite a new passion and a renewed sense of purpose in your mind. The stories in The Habit of Winning range from cola wars to cricketing heroes, from Michelle Obama's management techniques to Mahatma Gandhi's generosity. There are life lessons from frogs and rabbits, sharks and butterflies, kites and balloons. Together they create a head. The Habit of Winning is a good book. Author Prakash Iyer (MD of Kimberley Clark) seems to be a motivated, passionate man.

And his first piece of nonfiction too is a motivational, passionate read. Full of stories to read and reread. Out of the collection of many short stories classified under 11 headings such as – vision and goals, self belief, perseverance, winners’ mindsets, giving, hard work, the winners’ way, winning with teams, finding balance, take action and other people. Few stories in the lot are truly entertaining while a few you are sure to have come across somewhere or the other.

I really loved the opening story (Michalengelo’s story). The message imparted here is simply precious: “There’s an angel in this rock.

I am just setting it free”. Also, the stories on Anil Kumble; The Long Spoon and Short Of Life, OF Sharks, Pepsi and the Comfort Zone and Tyrone Bogues: Standing Tall are absolutely delightful reads. Msi ms 7641 lan driver. While Scorpions will be Scorpions or Acres of Diamonds do not have the element of newness, the lesson to be learnt from them definitely makes them worth narrating. And here’s why the book is a clear winner: the stories are told in a very entertaining manner that can be comprehended and enjoyed by all. The simplicity of Prakash Iyer’s language has its own advantage. Without confusing the reader too much it ensures that the reader digests the message imparted and does not get stuck with the complexities of the language. To conclude I feel, the line written in the introduction is apt – Onus is now on the readers to understand, extract and implement lessons from the nuggets of information provided.
